A PRIME LOCATION HI-ENd INstallation
Hurlingham Gardens, London, SW6
Case Study No 3
The Project
A traditional prime Edwardian house in Fulham having undergone an extensive refurbishment with the addition of a basement and back extension to the kitchen/dining area designed by a local architect for a particularly environmentally conscious client.
The brief was to design and implement an air to water heat pump system with additional solar thermal heating, whole house ventilation system with part air conditioning to principal bedrooms.
Evolution
The Solution
Bonair’s engineers used a specialized computer modelling program to design a heating system taking into account the nature of the building with the restrictions imposed on the outdoor equipment.
We implemented a Daikin Altherma Air To Water Heating System coupled to a 500 litre thermal storage tank that allowed for the heat from a solar heating circuit with vacuum tube solar panels to be integrated into the tank. Whole house ventilation was provided using two Vent-Axia MVHR Ventilation Units with ductwork providing filtered, tempered fresh air to all habitable rooms and extracting from all utility rooms and bathrooms.
Air conditioning was provided using Fujitsu Compact, Bulkhead Type Concealed Indoor Units mounted above cupboards in the bedrooms with slots in the joinery for air discharge and return air.
Working together
The Conclusion
Bonair continues to enjoy a close relationship with these local architects that spans several decades.
